The general verdict on this time of year has been something along the lines of: get’s dark early = bad; Christmas lights = good. And there’s definitely enough dazzling light installations around the city to make you forget about that admittedly quite irritating first fact.
So many sparkling displays, in fact, that they do end up becoming pretty hard to keep track of. We do want to see all the best ones, right? Until now, that is.
A nifty little interactive map has blessed us, making it easier than ever to track down all the best Christmas lights in London. From Fortnum & Mason to Battersea Power Station’s winter village to Christmas By The River, you’ll find London’s best lights all in one place on one webpage, thanks to London based Estate Agents Douglas & Gordon.
As you can see, this virtual map outlines a trail of beautiful displays across the city, which should prove pretty useful — a recent study found 77% of Britons love Christmas lights. Plus, it seems we all got in the Christmas mood earlier this year. Around 2 in 5 of us confessed to putting out some form of home Christmas decoration up by November 4. We’d call that early, but you could probably trace Secret London’s first Christmas article of the year to around September, so we’ll keep silent on this one.
