London Is Officially Home To 28 Of The Very Best Restaurants In The World

Now, there’s a pervasive myth on the internet that the UK doesn’t have good food – which is frankly ridiculous. Some people even go so far as to say that London has no good food (an absurd statement – as we can demonstrate). Need we even mention London’s wealth of incredible restaurants – many of which have Michelin stars? And now, just to prove our faith in our city even more, a recent ranking from La Liste has recognised London as having not one, not two, but 28 of the best restaurants in the whole world.

The list features 1000 of the best restaurants from all around the world. To create the list, La Liste trawled through “thousands of publications, hundreds of guidebooks, and millions of online reviews”. Using all of this writing they standardise all of the scoring and opinions before weighting them based on trustworthiness and expertise, and assigning each venue a final La Liste score out of 100.

As you might expect, though, the list does err heavily on the side of prestige and expensive restaurants, as well as bastions of the international dining scene. 75 restaurants from the UK made the top 1000 – including LEnclume – Simon Rogan, which made it into the top 5 restaurants in the world.

If we narrow the list down to the top 100, there were three restaurants from the UK – two of which are found in London. These are Core by Clare Smyth and The Ritz Restaurant. So if you’ve dined at either of these spots, you’ve officially dined in some of the very best restaurants around!
