If you wish to find the perfect place to escape to in the final months of the year, then the advice (for now) is just to stay right here! London has just been named the top spot in this recent study of the best places in the world to enjoy an autumn city break.
The travel gurus over at SkyParkSecure have crunched the numbers and found that the gorgeous brown leaves that cover the London parks at this time of year make it the place to be in the months of September – November. While most studies might just point people away from the humidity and inconsistent patches of sunshine that London enjoys/endures over the summer, we’re happy to be pointed to at the top spot for the cosy blanket of seasons.
London saw off stiff competition from the likes of Seoul and Paris, who came in just behind them for autumn escapes in spots #2 and #3, respectively. Their study was comprised of a number of data points, with London scoring extremely high for search volume, number of social media posts (39,604,000) and number of top-rated restaurants. Seoul scored higher for its 5* restaurants and saw less rainfall in autumn and a lower hotel price, but this wasn’t quite enough to land it above London in the final score of the study.
The list sees European cities dominating the top spots, with San Francisco, Alberta, and the aforementioned Seoul being the only cities outside the continent to appear in the top 10 of the study.
We do, however, realise that some of you will still want to get away from London this autumn – that is the meaning of ‘holiday’, I suppose – so we’ve begrudgingly listed all the other spots that make for a beautiful trip at this time of year, according to the experts at SkyParkSecure.
