London Is About To Become Home To The Fastest City Zip Wire In The World

Hold onto your hats, because a seriously speedy zip wire is zooming onto London’s South Bank this Summer.

(This article is about an event in the past.) Zip World reckons the dramatic London skyline provides the perfect backdrop for an adrenaline-fuelled adventure. They’re promising a 50mph thrill ride filled with iconic London views.

Ever wanted to speed down a zip wire like Kevin McAllister in Home Alone, Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean, or Doc in Back to the Future? Well, we’ve found a way for you to be as cool as all of these movie heroes without even leaving Zone 1. Zip World’s newest ride will be opening in Archbishop’s Park next month. It’s 100ft tall, 700ft long, takes just over 30 seconds, and it’s definitely not for the faint-hearted.

Just check out this video of Zip World’s ‘Titan’ zip line in North Wales for some thrill seeking inspiration and a taste of what’s to come. We reckon it’s probably not the best option for those of you who are less Bear Grylls and more Yogi Bear, though.

Zip World London opens on the 6th July and runs for just 12 weeks. You can find more information about the new opening here (where you’ll also be able to book your tickets). The experience will be open daily from 10am to 7pm and adult tickets cost £22.50.
