Spotted a cool new graphic above Shoreditch High Street station thinking London’s got a new funky art installation? You thought wrong (as did I)!
“You are here (again)” has been appearing above Shoreditch High Street and on a graffiti-covered wall of the nearby Euro Car Park. In a series of projections featuring the same words and a lightning bolt – rumour has it NYC’s LCD Soundsystem appear to be teasing an upcoming London show.
In 2022, band displayed similar projections in the same locations shortly before announcing a residency at Brixton’s O2 Academy. Not just that – the lightning bolt logo belongs to DFA Records, the independent label co-founded by the LCD frontman James Murphy in the early 200s.
So Londoners can soon expect the band to confirm a live appearance in the capital soon. This comes after LCD Soundsystem played Glastonbury’s iconic Pyramid Stage, followed by headlining All Points East in 2024.
In case you thought we were reaching, the official X/Twitter account for the O2 Academy Brixton also shared a video clip of the same graphic displayed in Shoreditch. The band has previously used ‘you are here’ as a title for a residency at Knockdown Center in New York in 2024. So it’s safe stay, we could expect a return.
While the band have not played any gigs in 2025, they have announced a US headline tour for this spring ahead of their show at Primavera Sound in Barcelona.
The indie icons last visited the O2 Academy Brixton in 2022 where they did a six-night residency to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first time they ever performed live in London in 2002.
That same year, frontman James Murphy shared a lengthy post on Facebook explaining why the band prefers to take on residencies rather than massive shows. And so, if you’re worried about tickets selling out – just know, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to see them!
