Craft beer heads and part-time beer drinkers alike can agree that when summer comes around, it’s all about the lagers. Whether it’s a bright and crisp pilsner or a malt-forward dunkel, there’s something about a lager that just hits the spot. With UK craft breweries asserting their position in the lager field, there’s plenty of local choices for the thirsty among us. So much choice, in fact, that East London’s The Five Points Brewing Co. are hosting a full-on lager festival.
The Five Points Lager Festival in the Yard, from July 21 – July 23, will see them serving up 12 taps of lagers. On offer will be choices from some of the UK’s best independent breweries. There will even be a few German classics from across the sea. And they’re sure to be serving up some of their own tank-fresh options too.
Five Points are a proper East London institution. They’re famed for their beery wares and for running one of the best pubs in Hackney: The Pembury Tavern. With a range of traditional and contemporary beer styles, they’ve been sating the city’s thirst since 2013.
