Gustav Klimt’s artworks are world renowned for their glorious gold detailing and elegant depictions of the female body, and now, you can see them in all their glory on a huge scale. Klimt: The Immersive Exhibition will take many of the symbolist artist’s works and digitally project them from floor to ceiling, combining them with other immersive elements to provide visitors with a 360-degree look at his masterpieces.
Arriving in the capital in July 2022, the multi-sensory experience will provide insights into more than just the Austrian artist’s work; it will also chronicle his life, techniques and influences. A 10-minute virtual reality experience will take you through a day in Klimt’s life, and striking sound effects will bring the exhibit to life further.
The exhibition, which has previously appeared in cities such as Brussels, Barcelona and Miami, will take over a 20,000-square-foot space here in London, bringing a touch of 1900s Viennese glamour with it. You’ll see the models in far greater detail too, as Klimt would have seen them as he painted.
Whether you choose to study every brushstroke, recreate The Kiss with a loved one, or bask under a projection of The Tree Of Life, Klimt: The Immersive Exhibition will let your step into your favourite pieces and celebrate one of the greatest symbolist painters of the early 1900s.
