A neighbourhood restaurant in Marylebone Village is amping up the cosiness this winter as it transforms into a magical Alpine escape with mountain cooking. Kitchen at Holmes has recently expanded and refurbished its terrace and rooftop area, and guests are now being invited in for a host of Christmas activations. They’ve got a new menu of alpine-inspired dishes and seasonal whiskey cocktails, as well as a hidden festive rooftop cinema for the ultimate Christmas movie-watching experience.
They’ll be flinging open the doors to the newly revamped winter offering next week, on November 21. And they’ve given their Mediterranean escape terrace a proper makeover – “complete with retro ski touches, seasonal foliage, exposed wooden decor and twinkling lights.”
Naturally, there are plenty of warming delights on the menu to enjoy in the new surroundings. Dishes range from Porcini Mushroom Vol-au-Vents to the Welsh Dragon Hot Dog with braised onion, cheddar, paprika and oregano pomme allumettes. To go with your meal, be sure to try one of the new limited-edition cocktails created in partnership with Jameson Black Barrel Whiskey. Anyone care for an Old Fashioned? A Bombardino? Or how about the Irish Spritz?

Screenings at the festive rooftop cinema
Each of Kitchen at Holme’s ‘Secret Rooftop Festive Cinema’ screening packages will run from 5:30-9:30pm. Each one is set to be an enchanting experience, watching a Christmas classic under the stars. And with only 8 seats per viewing, it’s a truly intimate and cosy event. They’ll screen the following films through December:
- Elf – December 4
- Love Actually – December 5
- The Holiday – December 6
- A Christmas Carol – December 11
- The Grinch – December 12
- Love Actually – December 13
- The Grinch – December 18
- The Holiday – December 19
- White Christmas – December 20

There are two ticket options for the cinema screenings. The standard ticket treats guests to a 3-course meal in the restaurant before they head upstairs for the screening. Alternatively, for a small extra price, you can plump for a glass of champagne as a treat during the experience. Go on, treat yourself. It’s (nearly) Christmas, after all!
