For another year running, our favourite canal-side spot has transformed into an idyllic summer destination, bringing us fun, free outdoor activities, games, events, and more – all against the beautiful backdrop of Granary Square fountains and Coal Drops Yard. Enjoy the chilled out vibes of the King’s Cross Riviera, just 5 minutes walk from King’s Cross and St Pancras Station!
First stop on your journey of summer relaxation has got to be the King’s Cross Riviera souvenir shop. Inside you’ll find British seaside charm mixed with French Riviera stripes and an abundance of one-of-a-kind souvenirs, made in collaboration with the likes of Real Hackney Dave, MaxMadeMe, Lucy Loves This and other top London designers.
The souvenir shop is open until September 8, so be sure to go and grab your summer mementos. Plus, there’s so much more to browse at the market, including gorgeous illustrations at the art fair!
Giving you the chance to get the most out of your summer’s evening, Screen on the Canal is the free, open-air cinema courtesy of Everyman. The screen is open until August 18, and here you can get comfy on the banks and enjoy blockbusters, family favourites and cult classics in front of the water.
All films are unticketed so you can just show up, but make sure you arrive nice and early to secure your spot. Plus, even when there isn’t a film showing, the canal side steps are a lovely place to sit and enjoy the sun. And remember you can grab dinner or some movie snacks from one of the eateries nearby. See the full programme here.
But that’s not all you’ll find in the way of entertainment at this waterside spot. At King’s Cross Pétanque you can play pétanque (also known as boules) for free until September 1. Situated in the middle of St Pancras Square you’ll find two 15m long pitches, where you can take a pitstop and challenge your friends to a game – plus it’s fun and super easy to learn. And if you want to catch all of the Olympics action, the Team GB Olympic Fanzone will be opening in Cubitt Square from July 26 – August 11.
