KFC Are Re-Opening Some London Restaurants For Food Deliveries Only

This’ll help us get through lockdown.

Now entering our fourth week of the UK lockdown, it’s been quite the adjustment living without our little luxuries (as grateful as we are tucked up in the safety of our homes). But now, KFC is gifting Londoners with a taste of our former lives, by reopening some restaurants for delivery only, after their initial closure a month ago.

The famous chicken shop originally closed its doors on March 23 “to help protect the wellbeing and safety of our teams and of our guests”, announcing in a statement that they’d be donating any unused food to their Food Donation Scheme partners and thanking their team members for their hard work during the beginning of the outbreak.

At present, the only London store reopening is the Enfield one, although more will hopefully follow. Operating with a small number of workers, the Enfield branch has re-opened for business, serving the local areas with a limited delivery menu only. While some items aren’t available, the ‘limited’ delivery menu is certainly vast, with your usual box meals, chicken burgers and gravy (obviously) available via Deliveroo.

Deliveries will be made using Deliveroo’s contact-free delivery method, with KFC also working with the popular delivery partner to provide free meals to NHS workers, where Deliveroo riders are conducting food drops to a number of NHS facilities nationwide to feed our frontline workers during the pandemic.

Speaking of the re-openings, a spokesperson for KFC has said: “There’s still a need for affordable, accessible food at this time – so we want to do our part.” Fingers crossed there’ll be a few more re-openings across London in the next couple of weeks!
