Get ready for a whole new level of madness when ‘Joker’ gets the live concert treatment.
If you think your life is a tragedy, why not let Arthur Fleck and a full orchestra convince you that it’s a comedy? You’ll get your chance on April 30th, as ‘Joker’ – currently hoovering up the accolades during Hollywood’s awards season – will head to London’s Eventim Apollo, backed by a live orchestra.
Joker – Live in Concert promises to be a memorable experience, with Hildur Guðnadóttir’s haunting score (an effort which earned her a BAFTA just this weekend) getting the live treatment. Is watching a broken loner descend into criminal madness an especially cheery experience? Maybe not, but with a live orchestra involved, it’s certainly going to be a memorable one.
The London concert is actually the world premiere, with Joker – Live in Concert making stops around the UK throughout the summer, before embarking on a series of international dates (which are still TBC, I’m afraid). What do you get when you cross an award-winning film with a top-notch orchestra? Well London, “you get what you fuckin’ deserve”…
