Helping you finish this April with a bang, Westfield Stratford City is partnering with social enterprise, Inside Out to host an unmissable pop-up. This free event will offer fascinating panel discussions and careers workshops, as well as the chance to get your hands on some fab new clothes. And it’s all for a great cause!
Inside Out is aiming to change the narrative for disadvantaged young people by widening their access to employable skills in business, fashion and retail. As testament to their motivational mantra, their clothing range is the UK’s first to be created, designed and hand-produced by young ex-offenders – and will be available for purchase at the pop-up! All proceeds will allow Inside Out to support more young people… and we say never turn down an opportunity for some guilt-free retail therapy!
As part of the Westfield Stratford City x Inside Out partnership, Westfield Stratford City’s Guest Services team has trained the ex-offenders, teaching them key retail skills. So when browsing for your new clothes, you are sure to receive top notch customer service!
After picking up some new fits, you can take part in an array of other amazing (free!) activities). Sit in on exclusive panel discussions, held by a diverse team of inspirational figures. Inside Out’s founders will be joined by Celebrity Chef, Levi Roots and Sonya Barlow, Founder of Like Minded Females and LinkedIn Changemaker, plus many, many more.
Discussions will be varied and wide-reaching, touching on mental health related themes such as ‘self-confidence’, as well as career topics including ‘being your own boss’ and ‘diversity and inclusion’. Listen to the success stories of self-made industry figures and tap into their valuable insider knowledge!
Whether you’re just starting out in the world of work, or fancy giving your professional profile a boost, there will be a ton of fantastic workshops at your disposal. Craft your perfect CV with help from the founder of the UK’s youngest recruitment agency, or learn how to set up a LinkedIn profile and build your network. You can even have a free headshot taken to really give your profile the edge!
Adding a splash of colour to the event, local graffiti artists will be painting murals of the young prison leavers involved in the project. You can even connect with them on your growing LinkedIn network by scanning the QR codes on the murals!
The ‘Blank Canvas’ pop-up will run between April 19th-28th from 10am-6pm Monday-Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday. All sessions on offer are free but some are ticketed and will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
