When the sun is up, Pumpkinville transforms into a world of wonder for the little monsters and their families. Step inside The Spook-Ademy, an interactive and a little freakish theatre experience led by the eccentric Professor Nox.
Kids are welcomed as new students attending a very unusual school where the curriculum covers all things creepy. Using projections, sound, and interactive performance, the show teaches guests the Three Sacred Skills needed to become an official Scary Scholar. From learning how to act like a creature to experiencing ghostly tales or even taking part in a live magical ritual and spell casting. Who knows, you might be a witch or a wizard yourself… the show adapts throughout the day with a softer version for younger kids and scarier twists for older ones. Just the perfect amount of fright for all.
The evening adult experience
Once the little ones are spooked enough, the night arrives, and the atmosphere at Pumpkinville shifts. It’s time for some real grow-up chills. You’re dared to sit inside the Pumpkin Picture House for a good old vintage horror film to set the mood for the night. From Nosferatu to Night of the Living Dead, these license-free cult favourites fill the dome with shadowy suspense and timeless fright.
Then visit The Lantern Lounge, an atmospheric bar offering themed food and drinks. Come for the boos, stay for the booze… but that’s not all. If you’re really brave, The Summoning is something you might care to visit. This separate, intimate séance experience is designed for those seeking a more intense and elevated horror attraction. How to get there?
The Halloween craze begins from October 20 to November 2 at Gunwharf Quays, a major retail and leisure hub in Portsmouth. For those traveling by train, the most convenient option is a direct service to Portsmouth Harbour Station, as it is located immediately adjacent to the Quays. Drivers can easily access the area from major motorways, including the M27 and A3(M), and can navigate directly to the extensive underground car park using the postcode PO1 3TZ.
