With decorations starting to appear across the city, and festive lights being switched on as early as next week; it really is beginning to look a lot like Christmas. And what better way to kick off the season than by joining KEVINNN in his iconic house at this exclusive ‘eat-what-you-see’ immersive film experience?
That’s right, it’s time to up your Christmas movie game. Taste Film x The Refinery City Point presents a Home Alone festive special, where the food and drinks you’re being served perfectly match up with the legendary movie moments happening on the screen in front of you. Pretty cool, right?
Once you’ve settled in and made yourself at home, you can sip on a ‘Crying Over Spilt Milk‘ cocktail (a festive twist on a White Russian) as Kevin’s antics begin to unfold on the big screen. In honour of the many hours Kevin spends ‘eating junk and watching rubbish’, you’ll then be served your first course, ‘Junk To The World‘ (an indulgent wild mushroom arancini with truffle aioli).
The next course, ‘Filthy Animals‘, will be in the form of a toasted taleggio flatbread, topped with duck confit, which can be washed down with the second festive cocktail of the evening, ‘Thirsty For More‘. You’ll then have the chance to unleash your inner eight-year-old with a DIY gingerbread Christmas tree. And of course, you’ll need to leave room for the (rather spectacular-sounding) dessert, ‘A Merry Little Christmas‘ (panna cotta, warm chocolate pudding, vanilla ice cream and cookie meringue – an innovative spin on milk and cookies).
Expect a whole lot of laughs, a whole host of holiday hijinks, and a big (delicious) dollop of festive nostalgia. Believe me, if you miss out on this one, yule certainly be sorry…
Screenings take place on select Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays throughout December, with two screenings each day (2.30pm and 7.30pm). Tickets go on sale on November 9 at 12pm and can be purchased here.
