Christmas may be over and the January blues might be kicking in, but that’s nothing a fancy wine bar overlooking the River Thames won’t fix, right? Hithe + Seek is one key jewel in the crown of the swanky new Westin London City Hotel.
And the best part about Hithe + Seek is that you can soak in the views with the the warmth of the indoors, thanks to their bar being kitted out in glass from floor to ceiling. Sip on a cool wine from across the globe as you gaze out onto the view from the north bank of the river.
Pointing to its renowned location on the Queenhithe, the name Hithe + Seek also hints at what can be found within its walls — specifically to the wine you’ll find there.
Hithe points to the “old world”, with editions from classical locations such as France, Spain, Greece and Germany. Whereas if you choose to Seek, you’ll uncover the “new world” wine producers, including bottles from New Zealand, Slovenia, Uruguay, and Lebanon. With over 80 references of wine to choose from, guests are sure to come away satisfied regardless of whether they choose to Hithe or Seek.
If wine isn’t your thing, Hithe + Seek also dabble in the world of cocktails, with a menu of classics and their own signatures. Try their “1666”, complete with Laphroaig, Amaretto, IPA &rosemary reduction, and fresh lemon; or go for a non-alcoholic “The Spicy Night”, with Seedlip Spiced, marmalade, fresh lime, pomelo and pepper tonic. For those times that only a Negroni or Manhattan will suffice, however, you can also look no further than Hithe + Seek.
To accompany your drinks, we should add, there’s also a classy food menu on offer here. Oh, and the dishes are also split into “Hithe” and “Seek”, to pair with the wines on offer. Delight your tastebuds with a duck rillette terrine, blackberries, brioche; wolf down a wild trout tiradito, aji Amarillo, crispy quinoa; or experience food heaven with grilled Galatian octopus, forbidden rice, saffron aioli.
