We bet you didn’t know there was a masonic temple bang in the centre of London?
Well folks, there is! And it’s a strangely perfect, and wildly captivating, setting to watch a chilling cinematic classic.
Hidden within Andaz London, a five-star hotel near Liverpool Street station, you’ll find Temple Cinema: the city’s eeriest and most atmospheric movie theatre. In partnership with East End Film Festival, they’re launching a spooky new cinema season, and it will take place from March until December this year. The screenings will focus on the dark art of horror filmmaking, showing old school classics and contemporary productions.
The season will kick off on March 28 with a screening of Hereditary (2018), which is an intensely horrific family drama-gone-supernatural nightmare. Later in the year, there’ll be screenings of The Omen (1976), Mandy (2018), and The Shining (1980), plus more that are yet to be confirmed. Check here for dates.
Tickets for the screening cost £15 and include a packet of popcorn. Get yours here. You’ll find the Temple Cinema at Andaz London, 40 Liverpool Street, EC2M 7QN. Nearest station: Liverpool Street.
