Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a K-drama star? Or had weird dreams of mythical creatures, hiding in plain sight under the neon lights of Piccadilly Circus? Well, ‘Hello, Delight!‘ in Borough Yards might be the place for you. A family-friendly immersive exhibition by the creators of Pulse: Beyond Delight, this unique sensory journey uses cutting-edge artificial intelligence, light projections, and fun interactive artworks to bring the rich culture of Korea to life. You’ll be transported across the world without stepping foot outside London.
Be warned – you don’t have long left; the exhibition will leave London on January 7, so be sure to make the most of this last week and visit while you still can!
What can I expect at ‘Hello, Delight!’?
A state-of-the-art fusion of art and technology, ‘Hello, Delight!‘ ensures you are at the centre of their story with personalised AI experiences and tailored interactive content. There are twelve immersive zones, each one shining a light on a different element of Korea’s rich cultural tapestry. With each step, the world around you will transform – one moment you could find yourself in the heart of a vibrant metropolis inspired by Seoul, the next you could be creating poetry, and seeing your (no doubt wondrous) words become part of the artwork.
Make sure to carve out around an hour and a half for your visit, it’s easy to lose time if you tend to be mesmerised by hypnotic lights and fascinating stories. K-Drama fans especially will love the Binary Dreams zone, where you can become your own heroic protagonist, while chronic star gazers will enjoy exploring ancient Korean constellations in the Cosmic Journeys zone. There’s even a chance to step into the world of Korean folklore, where AI blends mythical tales with modern backdrops – for example, mischievous Dokkaebi (goblins) running amok in Borough Market.
The immersive experience comes from the mind of artist Gyoungtae Hong and is the third instalment in the Delight Exhibition series. With Hello, Delight! he uses AI as a creative tool, expressing the diversity of urban life and showing that art and technology can work in harmony. You’ll feel completely immersed in the lights, sounds and culture of Seoul.
