🎵 Speeding through the tracks, on a route to ride a plane. What fun it is to ride and sing on the Festive Express tonight 🎵
We’re well past December 1 now, so it is officially, and objectively, acceptable to get into festive mode now (we say, as if we haven’t been shouting about it since September). And the trains are certainly agreeing with us on that front.
From today (December 5), the Heathrow Express is morphing into the Festive Express for three days to welcome in the start of the festivities this month.
Passengers heading for a late-year getaway might notice something different about one of the carriages – with an enchanting festive scene kitted out with baubles, parcels and more Christmassy pleasure than you can shake a suitcase at.
Staff dressed up as Postal Elves are on hand to welcome festive travellers hopping aboard the carriage to the sound of of sleigh bells and sight of glinting lights. Once seated, families can pen a letter to Santa and enter a Golden Ticket giveaway that would unlock a £250 Christmas shopping spree.
The first person to immerse themselves in the festive carriage? That would be the world’s greatest living explorer, as told by the Guinness Book Of Records, who took to the carriage as part of one of his countless journeys across the world.
He said: “If, like me, you travel a lot and are planning an adventure this Christmas then plot your course for London’s Paddington Station. The Heathrow Festive Express is an enchanting way to get into the Christmas spirit.”
