Five members of the original Broadway cast of Hadestown are hopping across the pond early next year to star in the West End production for a limited time run. For five weeks only, Reeve Carney (Orpheus), André De Shields (Hermes), Amber Gray (Persephone), Eva Noblezada (Eurydice) and Patrick Page (Hades) will be reprising their roles for the lucky Londoners that manage to snap up some tickets.
Hadestown celebrated its fifth anniversary on Broadway earlier this year, proudly holding the record for the highest grossing musical and longest running show in the 100-year history of the Walter Kerr Theatre. The show opened to rave reviews at London’s Lyric Theatre back in February, and is now booking until September 2025.
Seamlessly blending a plethora of musical styles, from indie folk to New Orleans-inspired jazz; Hadestown interweaves two mythical love stories (Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades and Persephone) and takes audiences on a magically immersive journey to the underworld and back again.
Producer, Mara Issacs, said: “It is nothing short of divine magic to be able to welcome Reeve, Andre, Amber, Eva, and Patrick back to London. This transatlantic collaboration, which began with the National Theatre production in 2018, is baked into Hadestown’s DNA. We couldn’t be more thrilled to bring them ‘home’ as Hadestown continues its love affair with the West End“.
Further casting will be announced in due course. Tickets for the limited run go on general sale at 12pm on Friday, December 20 (but be warned that presale has already taken place, so the tickets may be very limited). Find out more and get your tickets here.
