Winter is coming, but you can still gorge on the finest street food at Hackney Bridge Kitchens.
Earlier this year, Hackney Bridge arrived in east London; a spanking new outdoor drinking and dining spot which fit perfectly with the current lockdown rules in April 2021.
Fast forward a few months and, while social activities have continued to het up, the temperature is going to be on the wane. While the alfresco street food dining and drinks may have been a godsend over the summer, it’s welcome news that Hackney Bridge has opened a large indoor dining hall alongside their spanking new kitchen.
Come September 24, the popular Hackney spot which overlooks the river will be unveiling their new hall with a roster of events. The hall, known as Hackney Bridge Kitchens, will play host to a sea of food vendors, which include familiar names Made In Puglia and Filigrillz, as well as plenty of new stands. Guests will even be invited to attended classes on the sustainability of Kimchi and be offered the change to buy fresh produce from their market inside.
Events on the opening weekend (September 24-26) include a free selection of workshops, classes and DJ sets as a taste of what’s to come at the new space throughout this year. Plus, as the opening coincides with Hackney half marathon, the new venue will be offering free yoga, pilates stretching classes for knackered runners (there’s also beers on site, if you didn’t know — a well-earned pint should hit different after that achievement). You’ll be served drinks by The Hangar, a micropub and cocktail bar serving up a fine selection of craft beers and curated ice-cold beverages.
The team behind the beloved south-London spots Pop Brixton and Peckham Levels turned their attention to the east earlier this year, bringing us a new force: Hackney Bridge. So, you have a water-tight guarantee that the quality here will be sky-high. Oh, and it’s canal side, which is sure to be a lovely touch while watching the sun go down on a clear autumn night in London.
Find Hackney Bridge Kitchens at Units 1-28, ECHO BUILDING, E15 2SJ, from September 24. Nearest station is Hackney Wick.
