Gordon Ramsay sure is a busy man. He’s set to open his 100th restaurant, as part of a string of new openings in London. He’s recently been the subject of a 6-part Netflix documentary, Being Gordon Ramsay. And he’s also just generally Gordon Ramsay – a man who never seems to sit still, or not have 100 things to do. And amidst all that, he’s also opening up a new location of one of the world’s most famous restaurants: Hell’s Kitchen.
‘Kitchen Nightmares’ might take the crown as Ramsay’s most famous show, but coming in at a close second is the cooking competition that takes place in the titular restaurant. And soon, Londoners will be able to dine in the acclaimed restaurant without having to cross the pond, as Hell’s Kitchen will open its doors at the Cumberland Hotel on April 2.
Hell’s Kitchen London
The London opening has been a long time coming for Ramsay fans. The Hell’s Kitchen restaurant brand already boasts eight venues around the world. The other sites can be found in iconic locations such as Las Vegas, Miami, Washington DC, and Ibiza. And now, we Londoners get to enjoy it too!
Just like the other locations, the London Hell’s Kitchen will focus on “high-energy spectacle set around an open kitchen”. While there might not be as much swearing or shouting as in the TV show, there’s still plenty to watch and enjoy as the chefs prepare the food, just steps away from diners. And, yes, they’ll be wearing those recognisable red and blue bandanas – just like in the show.

Diners can expect some of the restaurant’s and chef’s most iconic dishes, as well as brand new offerings just for London. The menu will feature everything from lobster risotto to Ramsay’s iconic Beef Wellington. There will also be a five-course tasting menu, taking diners through Gordon Ramsay’s classic dishes, as well as the venue’s new dishes for London.
An ‘Idiot Sandwich’
Among the specials on offer at Hell’s Kitchen’s new London location is the lunch-time exclusive, ‘Idiot Sandwich’. This tongue-in-cheek menu item packs juicy short rib into a delectable sandwich creation – that you’d frankly be an idiot not to order.
The sandwich is named after an infamous, and oft-memed, moment from a comedy sketch on the Late Late Show with James Corden. Despite what some might think, the moment doesn’t come from one of the chef’s own shows – though they featured many explosive moments of their own.
Unfortunately, we doubt each order of the ‘Idiot Sandwich’ will result in a recreation of the moment. But it’s a fun addition to the menu, nonetheless. Alongside the sandwich, the lunch menu also features “the Hell’s Kitchen Burger, native lobster roll, and handcrafted pizzas finished with fiery toppings.”
