What is Glow Circus?
Glow Circus is an ode to both the daring art form and Japanese culture. Featuring traditional costumes and supernatural beings of Japanese folklore, this 60-minute experience unveils daring acrobatics, dance and floor work. Through the use of LED-lit masks, glow-in-the-dark props and mind-bending projections, this rich heritage is brought to the future, offering an innovative take on the regular cirque performance.
What is the story about?
The show starts with a musical prelude and futuristic imagery, setting the stage for the protagonist’s transformative journey. They discover a mysterious lift that transports them to distinct realms, with each floor symbolising a different world within the past, present and future. As they encounter guiding spirits with glowing Cyr wheels, as well as diabolo and hula hoop acts, Glow Circus shapes into a gateway to self-discovery for the leading character.
More than just a circus, this captivating London show is a sensory adventure. Accompanied by atmospheric music, the performers’ intricate choreography and impressive stunts are amplified by cutting edge-projection art and luminous costumes and props, gifting each scene colour and movement.
