Imagine the satisfaction you get after a great cleaning sesh. Then throw in a feeling of accomplishment, in knowing that you’ve done good for the environment, and you’ve secured some of Decathlon’s epic sports gear, ready for an autumnal adventure. Get involved in a two week mission starting this World Cleanup Day (September 20) and all of the above will happen…
As an official partner of World Cleanup Day, Decathlon has launched a ‘Rentals for Rubbish’ initiative, offering you the chance to save up to 50% on rentals on a range of sports gear in exchange for cleaning up your local area. The aim is to collect over 5,000 pieces of rubbish across the UK in partnership with Planet Patrol, in order to show some love to nature’s playground. Then you get to reap the rewards and have some fun with Decathlon sports gear after.
From bikes and paddle boards to kayaks and camping equipment, there’s so much to choose from. All you have to do is record your efforts in the free Planet Patrol app, and then dispose of the rubbish responsibly at home or through recycling facilities. And remember, the more litter you collect, the greater discount on sports gear rentals you’ll receive. Every ten pieces of litter will earn you a further 10% off, with the discount being capped at 50%.
But the fun doesn’t end there. Bring your collected rubbish to one of these Planet Patrol pop-up events on September 21 (10am, 12pm, 2pm) and you can enjoy Decathlon’s sports gear for free! Tickets available for £5 deposit on the Planet Patrol website, with all proceeds donated to the charity in aid of water conservation and improvement of green spaces.
