The Pastel Pink Vegan Restaurant That Serves Dishes From Around The World • Genesis

Genesis, a lovely vegan restaurant in London, serves up a completely plant-based, GMO-free and organic menu.

The restaurant, open on Commercial Street in Shoreditch, takes inspiration and influence from street food all over the world, combined with a love of brilliant food and healthy, environmentally conscious living. (Featured image by @bei.bei.wei)

The aim is to appeal to vegans and meat-eaters alike, whilst also supporting organic farming practices that promote a positive impact on our health and the planet’s ecosystems. The food is hearty, healthy and there’s more choice for vegans than ever before. You can expect to see sharing plates, salads, tacos, burgers and hot dogs, all made using organic fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds.

Inspired by travels through India, South East Asia, the Middle East and beyond, the sharing plates include: Indian seitan “chicken” Curry Bowl; Shawarma with Persian salad, chilli, pickles, garlic sauce, and tahini dressing; an indulgent Mac & Cheese; and a range of tacos with fillings such as fried avocado, beans and pico de gallo, or jackfruit, hoisin, cucumber and spring onion.

Not forgetting the burgers and the hot dogs! They’re made using natural ingredients, and are served inside vegan, organic brioche buns. For example, the seitan Rib Burger is filled with creamy coleslaw, whisky BBQ sauce, fried onions, jalapeños, and gherkins. The hot dogs, on the other hand, are inspired by different places around the world: the Bánh Mì Dog and the Mayan Dog.

The dessert menu has everything from Brownie Sundaes and Tiramisu, to Eton Mess and dairy-free Soft Serve Ice Cream with crazy toppings. Drinks are also vegan and organic, of course, and the menu includes freshly-pressed juices, milkshakes, coffees and Kombucha, as well as a range of organic beers, wines and cocktails.
