Ah, the paloma. It’s one of the top-trending drinks of the year and is hugely responsible for tequila’s recent massive resurgence in popularity. It’s also slowly starting to compete with the margarita for the most beloved tequila cocktail. In celebration of the refreshing drink, and with today marking World Paloma Day, Double Dutch has partnered up with modern tequila brand, El Rayo, to serve up free palomas to thirsty Londoners.
The free drinks make use of Double Dutch Pink Grapefruit Soda with tequila and fresh lime. Served in a highball, they’re the perfect thirst-quencher, and are just boozy enough for some Monday motivation without leading to a hungover Tuesday at work. The free drinks are available from Gladwin Brothers venues in London, including The Shed and The Sussex.
The free drinks are limited, so you’ll want to act fast to secure your gratis cocktail. At The Shed and The Sussex, for example, there will only be 60 and 50 free cocktails up for grabs, respectively.
How to grab your free paloma
Those wanting to kick off their week with a complimentary libation will want to grab a table, from 5PM, today at The Shed or The Sussex where drinks are first-seated, first-served. The cocktails will make use of the Double Dutch Pink Grapefruit Soda and El Rayo tequila. If you want to be absolutely sure of being offered a free paloma, we recommend making a booking for 5PM so you’re one of the first through the doors – and among the first to try the drinks.
It’s worth noting that due to the fact that these venues are restaurants, you’ll most likely have to stick around for a meal. But then, a great meal with a great (free) cocktail sure isn’t something to be sniffed at. The Sussex and The Shed are the only 100% confirmed Gladwin Brothers venues that we’re sure are serving the free drinks, but if you’re near another of their locations – why not pop in and see if you luck out with a free drink?
The Shed can be found at 122 Palace Gardens Terrace, W8 4RT. The nearest station is Notting Hill Gate.
The Sussex can be found at 63-64 Frith Street, W1D 3JW. The nearest station is Tottenham Court Road.
