As close to magic beans as you can get.
Good news is very welcome in these tough times and The Roasting Shed are bringing it to you, the NHS, key workers and the vulnerable, in the form of free freshly roasted coffee! Really, what could be better? Usually only offering wholesale to restaurants, this cute coffee roaster in Hackney Wick have decided to launch consumer coffee subscriptions and, for each purchase, they will be donating a free bag of coffee to an NHS worker or vulnerable person.
After they had to close their doors following government advice, The Roasting Shed donated all of their freshly roasted coffee to Homerton Hospital, so that it didn’t go to waste. The response they got was great.
Neil, one of the owners said: “When we made our first drop to Homerton Hospital, the team told me that any tiny gesture helps boost morale and that support from the community was important now more than ever.” And so the idea for ‘Kind Coffee Subscriptions’ was born.
For every customer that signs up to a delivery of hand roasted coffee from The Roasting Shed, they will send a free bag of beans to an NHS worker, a key worker, or vulnerable person. Whether that’s a volunteer, a teacher of key worker children, or maybe someone who is self-isolating alone, this bag of magic beans is sure to go to someone who deserves a little pick-me-up.
Once you have placed your order, you can fill in the details of the person you’ll like to send some free coffee to. If you don’t have a particular local hero in mind, then The Roasting Shed can do the hard work for you and find an amazing member of our incredible NHS staff to send the coffee to on your behalf.
Considering small acts of kindness and coffee are likely to be the things that carry us through this pandemic, we think The Roasting Shed are onto something pretty great with this ‘Kind Coffee’ thing. So why not get yourself a bag and send some on too?
