It’s Christmas, but let’s face it: many of us are feeling a little uneasy, given the new wave of Omicron causing a flood of new Covid cases across the country. This has had many a knock-on effect over the last couple of weeks, and the hospitality industry are once again being hit hard, this time by a sea of booking cancellations.
New London favourites Pergola on the Wharf have decided to step in to lend a hand to their fellow businesses, many of which will be struggling in the leadup to Christmas. They’re encouraging people to give a £5 donation to the charity Hospitality Action in exchange for a free, slap-up turkey Christmas dinner.
You’ll get to eat like a royal – with all the trimmings – while providing some much needed hope to bars, pubs and restaurants. Attendees will be able to choose between turkey or a vegetarian option, and there is space for social-distancing in the venue.
Running between Monday, December 20 and Christmas Eve (12-6pm), guests will be fed their lovely roasts at Pergola on the Wharf. All you need to do is turn up, where you’ll find details on how to make your donation.
Paul Loebenberg, Operations Director at Incipio Group said: “Like so many other restaurants and pubs we are receiving cancellations at Pergola on the Wharf. It is our first Christmas trading and we’re determined to finish the year on a high.
“By offering a free Christmas dinner to our guests, we can remain open for our team who all shared they would prefer to be working, we can support our suppliers and share some goodwill for those in need through our donations”
Pergola on the Wharf opened in London in June. Find them in Canary Wharf Shopping Centre at Crossrail Place, London E14 5AR. Read more about them at their website.
