The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is back at Excel London for one weekend only this weekend. Raw speed meets sustainability as the 2026 Hankook London E-Prix takes place on August 15-16 at the first and only indoor-outdoor circuit of top-flight motorsport. While it goes without saying that this all-electrical spectacle is a must-attend for motorsport fans, the weekend offers far more than just racing.
So, what does Formula E offer aside from racing?
Now, of course, it’s a given that the biggest draw of Formula E is the adrenaline-pumping race. Witnessing these cars’ raw speed will take your breath away. What’s more, this speed combines with high-tech sustainability in premier all-electric racing, with the cutting-edge GEN3 Evo at the forefront. And, as the grand finale of this racing season, the event will also feature the official crowning of the Season 12 World Champion (which you could witness from the track itself, as 2,000 lucky winners will receive a spot to watch the podium crowning through participation in the arcade and reaction games in the fan village).
However, if you’re not big into racing that is no big problem here. The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship offers far more at their festival-style event, catering for most ages and interests.
1. Live music
No festival would be complete without music, and Formula E is no exception. Expect DJ sets and live performances at various points throughout the weekend, including Josh Baker headlining on Saturday, and AJ Tracey on Sunday. Dreamhouse and Isan Elba will join as support acts across the weekend.
If you have a grandstand ticket, you can enjoy the pre-race show, which takes place on the grid. Expect music and an exhilarating light show as the drivers prepare to get in their cars, followed by a medley performance from the headline act of the day to kick off the race.
2. International food trucks
Whet your appetite for thrills with more than just the cars. Expect street food-style dishes from a number of international food trucks.
3. Forward-thinking initiatives
The GEN3 Evo is ready to impress the crowds with its ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 mph in just 1.82 seconds, plus an astonishing top speed of 200mph. However, perhaps even more impressive is that it’s also designed with a regenerative braking system that returns energy to the batteries, and tyres made from 35% recycled materials.
The Formula E tournament represents the future of motorsport: 100% electric, high-tech racing with a sense of responsibility. They’re taking this ‘future’ pledge even further with their Girls on Track initiative, which aims to inspire girls aged 12 to 18 to get involved in motorsport.

Fancy your chances in a Formula E race? The racing simulators in the gaming arena will put you in the heart of the action as you take on a virtual version of the real circuit. If you’re attending the weekend with children, make a beeline for the family-friendly activities in the kids zone, including face painting and colouring.
