Hackney is about to become even more of a summer hotspot. Londoners already flock to the East London borough to enjoy the open spaces of London Fields and Victoria Park, as well as the area’s incredible open-air food and drink markets – such as Broadway Markets and Netil Market. But now, there’s an all-in-one courtyard set to land right behind a brewery, offering up ice-cold drinks, delicious food, and plenty of sunshine-y vibes.
Five Points Brewing has partnered up with the team behind London Fields Courtyard to unveil the new Five Points Courtyard, which will open its doors Thursday, May 18. At the heart of the experience will be open-fire cooking and an exciting drinks selection with something for everyone. And with a capacity for over 300 people, you can definitely bring everyone you know!
Said Edward Mason, the managing director of Five Points Brewing: “We have long been at the forefront of the local food, drink and hospitality scene and are excited to be bringing this new Courtyard experience to our neighbourhood. This is our biggest hospitality venture to date and we are excited to showcase the best of East London’s food and drink scene.”
Food at the Five Points Courtyard
Now, an impressive courtyard needs equally impressive food, so the Five Points Courtyard has enlisted the services of two exciting names in London’s food scene: From The Ashes and anoosh. From The Ashes will be bringing their open-fire BBQ food, alongside which anoosh will be serving their Middle-Eastern tacos.
anoosh (whose name derives from an Armenian expression that celebrates the love of food) will be mashing up Mexican and Middle Eastern flavours with joyous results. Their tacos will be unlike any other available in London right now. Fillings will range from Harissa Chicken with zhug sauce, jajig and pickled chillies to Falafel tacos topped with gojuchang tahini and pomegranate molasses. And there will be plenty of sides too, drawing on the combined expertise of KERB alums Jack A. Fargher and Oli Stephen of Camden Market’s famous Oli Baba’s halloumi fries.
Meanwhile, The Five Points Courtyard will signal a return to East London for From The Ashes, whose nose-to-tail BBQ concept kicked off during the pandemic. They’ll be serving up a variety of dishes, from Argentinian Sausage with Chimichurri to Half-smoked Chicken and Salsa Verde, Pit Roasted Cauliflower Flatbread with Chilli Romesco, and more.
To drink
The drinks offering is a veritable masterclass in offering the best of the best for each category of beverage. Ice-cold beers come direct from the on-site brewery, just steps away from your seats – and are poured directly from the holding tanks. Cocktails come courtesy of one of Dalston’s favourite bars, Pamela. And an extensive selection of natural wines has been curated by Bert Blaize, 2019 Top Young Wine Sommelier Of The Year and author of Which Wine When.
All that to say: no matter what your poison of choice is, the Five Points Courtyard will have some of the best options in London to whet your whistle.
Said Martin Wade Thomas, founder of London Fields Courtyard: “We are excited to partner with Five Points to create this new outdoor drinking and dining space in the heart of Hackney. We’ve been carefully curating the space, the food and the drinks and cannot wait to get it open for a summer of fun.”
And we can’t wait to head down and sink some super fresh pints and delicious, fire-kissed bites.
The Five Points Courtyard will open on May 18.
