Eurostar has told passengers not to travel to the Netherlands right now after a fire and power outage near Rotterdam Centraal caused severe rail disruption across the country.
Eurostar issues “do not travel” warning to Netherlands due to a fire in Rotterdam
The operator said services are extremely limited and that its trains are facing significant delays and cancellations, with no alternative travel options available.
The warning, posted on Tuesday June 30, affects journeys in and out of the Netherlands and is expected to remain in place until at least Friday July 3. Travellers due to head to Amsterdam or other Dutch destinations by train this week have been urged to cancel or postpone their plans.
What passengers can do
Eurostar said passengers booked to travel on June 30, July 1, July 2 or July 3 have three choices. They can exchange their ticket for another date in the same class, cancel and receive an e-voucher, or request a refund.
Refunds will take up to 28 days to process and will not include booking fees. Passengers have up to three months from their original travel date to decide what to do
