Love tacos? Love tequila? Wish you could spend all day stuffing tacos in your mouth and washing them down with tequila cocktails? Well, then we’ve got just the foodie festival for you! The Tacover is coming back to London this weekend, after multiple enormous sell-out events across the city, and they’re promising a full-on flavour fiesta.
The Tacover will take over the Richmond Athletic Ground from August 14-16, with an enormous celebration of Mexican cookery and cocktails. Over 40 traders will be slinging out tacos and drinks, whilst competing for awards like The Best Margarita and The Best Taqueria.
In recent years, London has gone from a wasteland devoid of any decent Mexican food to a city full of authentic taquerias, Mexican restaurants, mezcal bars, and more. And the Tacover brings together some of the best taqeuros from around the city and the country – all in one place for you to try.
At the Tacover
At the heart of the festival is an attempt to ensure visitors can try as many of the tacos as possible. That’s why every vendor will have at least 3 tacos available, with the prices capped at £4 per taco, and each drinks vendor will have at least 1 drink available for £10.

In addition to the tacos, there will be Mexican street food stands, as well as a Mexican craft market.
Be sure not to miss the free Tequila and Mezcal tent. Visitors can learn more about agave as they taste samples from some of the tequilas available on site. And you can even purchase a bottle of your favourite to take home – after sampling them all, of course.
And while I’d be more than happy with the incredible wealth of taco traders and tequilas to sip on, The Tacover has even more on offer. Live entertainment will include their iconic Tortilla Slap Challenge, as well as the Hot Taco eating challenge. And as you roam around the festival, you’ll encounter mariachis, luchadores, folk dancers, and more.
