When we think of festivals, a musical lineup is what usually springs to mind – especially in the summer. But, as the outdoor season starts to wind down in September, we start to want something altogether different.
And if your favourite cocktail involves coffee liqueur and vodka, you might be in luck… a festival dedicated to espresso martinis is coming to London as part of a trip around the country.
Mr Black Espresso Martini Festival
After success with an Espresso Martini fest in the US, coffee liqueur aficionados Mr Black is taking things across the UK, with nine London spots taking part between September 19-29.
In its essence, the premise is just a celebration of the Espresso Martini, the genius of melding coffee and alcohol – two of life’s finer things – together to create a beloved cocktail. At the partaking bars, you’ll find takeovers, one-off serves and pairings to go alongside the cocktails. For example, at Demon Wise & Partners in London, you’ll be able to try out ‘The Cool One’, which is a concoction of Mr Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur, Coole Swan Irish Liqueur, Vodka, Espresso and Sugar Syrup.
As well as in the capital, you’ll find the Espresso Martini-based celebrations in Brighton, Glasgow, Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffield, Southampton, Winchester, and Worthing. On September 1, a microsite for the festival is due to go live to confirm every spot you can find the festivities in. Here’s where is confirmed for Espresso Martini festival activities in London so far:
- Archive & Myth
- Balans
- Bantof
- Bodeans
- CTC
- Demon Wise And Partners

- Surbitionan Vine
Mr Black Espresso Martini Festival takes place across multiple venues between September 19-29. The full list of spots taking part is due to be posted on September 1.
