If you happen to be wandering the streets of Soho – just starting to get peckish after lunch, in need of a snack – then we happen upon a rather naughty and nice option that hits the spot.
The Cockery (as you might be able to gather from their name) are experts in the craft of erotic waffles because, well, conventional waffle shapes can get boring. In with the phallus-shaped waffles, everybody.
Hitting Rupert Street (just a stone’s throw from Shaftesbury avenue) towards the end of 2021, The Cockery has taken the area by storm, with customers filling the store to get a taste of the “sweet cockaffle”.
After the resounding success of La Pollería and La Coñería (who expert in the vagina-shaped variety) in Madrid, the erotic waffles have made their way over to London – and let’s be honest, they look pretty incredible!
As explained by our good friends at Madrid Secreto, La Pollería was born in 2019 during Madrid’s Pride festival. Pedro Buerbaum, 24, founder of the stores, visited the Chueca district amidst the celebrations, and found it to be “the Mecca of pride”, and just like that, the idea was born.
When the store opened its doors, it was bombarded with customers and queues around the corner as the word — and numbers of people carrying penis-shaped waffles — spread quickly around the city. Fast-forward to today, and London has just the same treat, and rest assured they taste as good as they look.
Visitors can also try their waffle hot dog style (suitably named “the hot cock”), or even opt for the marvellous vegan option: “the lollicocks”. So whether it’s a belated Valentine’s Day trip for some steamy snacks, a snap for the ‘gram or just a little something to satisfy those cravings, head down to The Cockery in Soho for a delicious ol’ time.
