What is the E1 Series?
This is the world’s first all-electric powerboat racing series, following in the (purely metaphorical) tyre tracks of Formula E, they endeavour to take sustainable and innovative steps to transform marine motorsport. This includes silenced racing, zero emissions and a focus on coastal habitat restoration, protecting ecosystems through electrification. They are also the first world championship to mandate mixed gender teams, with both a male and female pilot who share equal race times.
The teams are all celebrity-backed, so you can potentially expect to see some famous faces cheering them on from the sidelines, including the likes of Will Smith, Steve Aoki, LeBron James, Rafael Nadal, Tom Brady and Marc Anthony.
