First question: How many times have you wished you could clock off work early and step into the boozer? If you’re answering your boss, that answer will of course be never. If you’re talking to absolutely anyone else, that’ll swiftly change to something in between a little and often and every day.
Second question: how often have you wished you could hang out with your dog at every possible moment? Even your boss will accept that always is the only correct answer here.
With these points in mind, Rover might have just the dream job for you… and pretty much anyone with a pup. The pet-sitting service is on the hunt for the most dog-friendly pub in town (the whole UK), and is ready to pay 11 lucky people to try out pubs with their dog to determine which is the best spot for them to enjoy a pint together.
Following their research that found around 78% of canines across the UK have become regular pub goers with us (with 60% seeming to enjoy it just as much as we do!), it was only right that the very best place is sought out. They’re looking for 11 ‘tavern tasters’ who will take on the mantle for a different part of the UK, meaning one lucky dog-owning, pub-loving Londoner will be receiving some cash for pints.
Each tavern tester will be paid to visit 10 pubs over the course of seven weeks to determine which pub is the best for them and their fluffy companion. Those hoping to become a tavern tester need to have until June 16 to complete the application process, which involves explaining why you’d make the perfect sampler of pubs as well as sending photos or a video of your and your four-legged friend.
The successful tavern tester will be paid £1,000 to visit 10 pubs (half the amount at the start of seven weeks, and the remaining £500 four weeks in), and will need to take a social media-friendly image at each pub and fill out a questionnaire after each pub. Happy applying to dog owners out there for the ultimate pub x pup occupation!
