Love food? Of course you do. Love pop ups? Do we really need to ask? Love getting your hands on food from pop ups that can’t be found anywhere else? Then you’ll need to head to Dalston every weekend for the next month to sample some of the most exclusive food offerings in London. DELLI is bringing some of London’s best treats from some of London’s most talented women to a month of pop ups at Dalston‘s Allpress.
The pop ups will run throughout the month of August, taking place every weekend from 11am-4pm. And each weekend will see completely different offerings. To get there, just take a short walk down the street from Dalston Junction station until you get to the delightful courtyard outside Allpress, an espresso roastery and café. And, yes, you will want to go back every weekend for the incredibly variety on offer from weekend to weekend.
Kicking off the month of pop ups (tomorrow from August 6-7!) is the power combination of Spoons by Rahel Stephanie, and Araw London. Rahel Stephanie is renowned for her supper clubs and playful reimagining of Indonesian classics that she grew up with. Meanwhile Araw’s vegan-friendly, all-natural ice cream offer up sweet treats and unique flavours to Londoners. They’ll be dishing out Indonesian-inspired cakes and treats alongside Ube, Earl Grey, or Masala Chai flavoured ice cream.
What about the rest of the month?
The following weekend (August 13-14) will see SEASONS offering up their vegan seasonal bakes. If you’re lucky there might be some wild garlic pesto babka on offer – we’re crossing our fingers for it. Ultimately, though, anything from SEASONS is sure to bang.
The two weekends afterwards have been split up to allow even more makers from the DELLI platform to showcase their delights. On August 20 Hungry Buddhas will be doling out their Afro-Asian fusion food – expect dumplings with such fillings as pepper prawn, brown stew chicken, or Callaloo. Their Brixton pop-up restaurant sold out back in April, so you’ll definitely want to check them out. On August 21, meanwhile, you’ll find Lil’ Wong Bakes in the courtyard with her Pandan Sandos. Having achieved cult status in London, the sweet treats are not to be missed.
Oh, and there’s still more to come. There’s one more weekend left in August after that, remember? August 27 will see The Little Sauce grabbing space in the courtyard. We’re hoping there’ll be plenty of bottles of their famed hot sauces – Too Hot, and Hot Girl – on offer for spice-lovers. August 28 then cools you right back down with the return of Araw and their amazing frozen delights.
Clearly the Allpress courtyard is going to be the place to be this month! Find it at 55 Dalston Lane, London, E8 2NG. And more for info and updates on the makers and pop ups head to DELLI’s socials.
