Es gibt einen unausgesprochenen Teil des Jahres, in dem sich die Stadt von „Don’t talk to me about Christmas“ in ein Paradies der Festlichkeit verwandelt. Und da man beim Einschalten der Lichter nicht reden muss, ist das wahrscheinlich der Zeitpunkt, an dem man es am besten beobachten kann.
Die Regent Street ist eine von vielen Londoner Straßen, die in der Weihnachtszeit in ein neues Leben erwacht. Sie erstrahlt in einem besonders engelhaften Lichterglanz und ist ein unverzichtbarer Zwischenstopp auf Ihrer Tour durch die Weihnachtsbeleuchtung.
Weihnachtsbeleuchtung in der Regent Street
Am 7. November werden die riesigen Lichter in der Regent Street für die Weihnachtszeit eingeschaltet, und Sie können sich darauf freuen, dass die Abende in London von 300.000 LED-Lichtern erhellt werden. Verwandeln Sie Ihr trübes Gemüt in ein strahlendes Lächeln, während Sie durch die Regent Street, die Jermyn Street und den St James’s Market schlendern.
Die Lichter in der Regent Street sind eines der größten Lichterspiele der Stadt und auch geschichtsträchtig – sie gehen bis ins Jahr 1954 zurück. Ein Spaziergang (oder eine Fahrt mit dem Bus) durch die Straße ist immer ein überwältigendes Erlebnis, wenn Sie die 50 magischen „Geister“ sehen, die die Lichterkette bilden. Auch in der Glasshouse Street, der Heddon Street, der Quadrant Arcade, dem St. James’s Market und der Swallow Street gibt es Lichtspiele zu bestaunen, die nach ihrer Einführung im Jahr 2023 nun schon das zweite Jahr in Folge leuchten.
In diesem Jahr wird zusätzlich ein Wunschbaum aufgestellt, der ebenfalls weihnachtlich le uchtet. Die Passanten können die funkelnden Lichter des Baums selbst einschalten, indem sie eine Spende für die Wohltätigkeitsorganisation The Felix Project eintippen, die sich dafür einsetzt, dass gute Lebensmittel nicht verschwendet werden und niemand hungern muss.
Die magische Weihnachtsbeleuchtung in der Regent Street wird am 7. November eingeschaltet – und sie wird bis zum 5. Januar 2025 täglich über London leuchten.
