Anfang nächsten Monats wird es in London zu einer Reihe von Streiks kommen. Die Gewerkschaft Aslef hat für die zweite Novemberwoche Arbeitsniederlegungen bei der Londoner U-Bahn angekündigt. Auch die Gewerkschaft RMT hat für Anfang des Monats eine Reihe von Streiks angekündigt, da die beiden Verkehrsgewerkschaften im Streit um die Löhne und Gehälter einen Arbeitskampf führen.
Wann finden die Streiks statt?
Die Gewerkschaft Aslef hat bestätigt, dass sowohl am 7. als auch am 12. November Streiks bei der Londoner U-Bahn stattfinden werden. Die Aslef hat 2.000 Mitglieder, und sowohl die Zugführer als auch die leitenden Angestellten werden an diesem Tag streiken, während die Ausbilder und die Beschäftigten im technischen Bereich an verschiedenen Tagen im November ebenfalls streiken werden.
Die RMT hat schätzungsweise 10.000 Mitglieder, die sich an den Streiks beteiligen und an verschiedenen Tagen zwischen dem 1. und 8. November die Arbeit niederlegen werden. Im Laufe des Monats wird es auch ein Überstundenverbot für verschiedene Gruppen von Beschäftigten geben.
Was passiert während der U-Bahn-Streiks?
Am Tag der Aslef-Streiks wird wahrscheinlich das gesamte U-Bahn-Netz betroffen sein, obwohl das Ausmaß der Streiks an den RMT-Tagen noch nicht klar ist.
Die RMT-Beschäftigten an den Bahnhöfen werden am 5. November in den Ausstand treten, und ab dem 6. November werden die Signalarbeiter an drei aufeinander folgenden Tagen streiken, was bedeutet, dass das Netz zu Beginn des Monats mehrere Tage lang unterbrochen sein wird.
Warum finden die Streiks statt?
Beide Gewerkschaften haben erklärt, dass es bei den Streiks um Lohnfragen sowie um Themen wie lange Arbeitszeiten geht
Die RMT hat ihr Lohnangebot von TfL als „völlig unzureichend“ bezeichnet.
Finn Brennan, der hauptamtliche Organisator von Aslef bei der Londoner U-Bahn, äußerte sich zu den Nachrichten und sagte: „Wir wollen den Fahrgästen das Reisen in und um die Hauptstadt nicht erschweren und wir wollen keinen Tageslohn verlieren – aber wir sind in diese Lage gezwungen worden, weil sich die LU-Geschäftsführung nicht an einen Tisch setzen und mit uns verhandeln will.“
„Unsere Mitglieder haben mit über 98% für einen Streik gestimmt, aber das Management der U-Bahn weigert sich immer noch, auch nur über Schlüsselelemente unserer Forderung zu diskutieren. Sie weigern sich, über eine Verkürzung der Wochenarbeitszeit oder die Einführung von bezahlten Essenserleichterungen zu diskutieren, um die U-Bahn-Fahrer mit denen auf der Elizabeth Line und der London Overground gleichzustellen.“
Können die Streiks abgebrochen werden?
TfL ist mit beiden Gewerkschaften im Gespräch, und es besteht immer die Möglichkeit, dass eine Vereinbarung getroffen wird, die bedeutet, dass die Streiks nicht stattfinden werden. Zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt gibt es jedoch keine solche Einigung, und die Streiks werden fortgesetzt.
Ein Sprecher von TfL äußerte sich ebenfalls zu dieser Nachricht: „Es ist enttäuschend, dass Aslef und RMT nach unseren jüngsten Gesprächen über Löhne und Gehälter sowie Arbeitsbedingungen einen Arbeitskampf angekündigt haben … Wir verhandeln mit unseren Gewerkschaften in gutem Glauben, haben unser Angebot seit Beginn der Gespräche erhöht und haben unsere Gewerkschaften eingeladen, sich nächste Woche erneut zu treffen. Unser Angebot ist fair für unsere Mitarbeiter und erschwinglich für London.“
