Cross The Tracks is here, and they’ve got a very special headliner…
We’re a sucker for new things here at Secret London. We’re also a sucker for brilliant summer festivals. So put the two together, and you can easily see why we’re so hyped for Cross The Tracks. Hitting Brockwell Park on Sunday, June 9th, this music and food-led festival has roped in none other than the Queen of Funk herself, as Chaka Khan will be headlining the new summer bash. Desperate for tickets yet? Fret not, because we’ve got them right here.

Chaka Khan on Artistic Freedom, Her Side Hustles and Joni Mitchell https://www.nytimes.com/ – read full article(s) in my profile It’s been 12 years since Chaka Khan released a studio album, but “I wasn’t sitting, twiddling my thumbs,” the singer known as the Queen of Funk said recently. She was touring and stealthily recording two albums. The first, “Hello Happiness,” out this month, is full of upbeat, powerful tracks that wouldn’t be out of place on a “Soul Train” line… #ChakaKhan HelloHappiness @diaryrecords @islandrecords @islandrecordsuk
It all sounds rather excellent to be honest; Cross The Tracks will combine the best jazz, funk, and soul music, with over forty of London’s best street food traders, and a host of craft beer brewers. Personally, I’d find forty street food traders an overwhelming level of choice, but at least you won’t be going hungry!
Joining Chaka Khan on the stage are the likes of Masego, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, Jordan Rakei, The Blackbyrds, Norman Jay MBE, and The Comet Is Coming. Mixing well-known acts with up-and-coming talent, this lineup is sure to get you up and dancing all day long. Elsewhere across the festival, you’ll find a vintage record store, an independent creatives market, along with a series of workshops, talks, and yoga classes.
All this, plus a (hopefully) sunny day? Looks like Ain’t Nobody doing festivals better than Cross The Tracks this year…
