We Londoners love pizza. Over the past few years, pizzerias have opened absolutely everywhere in the city, and some truly exceptional places have started slinging slices (and whole pies). From Dough Hands to Napoli on the Road, ACE Pizza, and more (and we’d be remiss not to mention the prolific Yard Sale), London is absolutely chock-full of amazing pizza spots.
But there’s one that stands out from the crowd, with a unique menu, special awards, and a charming story to its name. Connie’s, in Peckham, isn’t your ordinary pizza spot. Instead, it’s a Bri-talian pizzeria that tells the story of founder Andrea Asciuti’s family. It’s named for his wife Connie, and in honour of his daughter, who has British-Italian heritage. And it serves up a unique British-influenced take on traditional Italian pizza.
The best part of it all? Whole pizzas at Connie’s start at just £6!

The Bri-talian fusion pizzeria was recently recognised by Italy’s 50 Top Pizza list as one of the best pizza spots in all of Europe*. Connie’s took the 48th spot on the list. In doing so, it joined the likes of Napoli on the Road (#1), 50 Kalò (#4), and L’Antica Pizzeria (#28). In fact, it was one of only 4 London pizzerias to make the list.
Plus, Andrea Asciuti and Connie’s were singled out for praise with a special award. The spot was given the “One to Watch 2026 Mammafiore Award”. 50 Top Pizza described Connie’s as “[an] audacious concept that might make purists turn up their noses, but that wins over anyone willing to be surprised at first taste.”
Connie’s – a Bri-talian pizzeria
So, how does an Italian-approved pizzeria make British-Italian fusion pizza? It all started at Asciuti’s other pizza spot, 081 Pizzeria. Here, Connie would ask for her pizza to be made a specific way, at the end of her shift. Her preference was a slightly smaller dough ball, cooked at a lower temperature for longer. The result was something thinner and crispier, which was nicknamed ‘Connie’s Pizza.’ And now there’s a whole restaurant slinging pies to Connie’s specifications.
The team describes the pizza as “proper London-style pizza, with Italian soul. Pizzas that are light, crispy and full of flavour.” Instead of importing Italian ingredients, they make the most of local British ingredients.
When it come to the toppings, you’ll find nods to seasonality with a handful of unique ingredients. The marinara pie, or the Mary Nary, as it’s called at Connie’s, features wild garlic, for example. There’s also a Vodka Sauce pizza, a Spanish-influenced Chori Piz, with Spanish Spicy Chorizo and Chimichurri, and more.

No wonder 50 Top Pizza described the food here as “a unique and unforgettable experience.”
So, whether you’re dining on a budget, or want to try some of the best pizza in the city, it’s time for a trip to Connie’s.
