London’s season of twinkling Christmas lights is drawing ever closer, with the first set all ready to start arriving from next week. Waiting a little longer, however, will give us the joy of welcoming the quite frankly absurd display that Kew Gardens puts on every year.
2025 marks the 13th year of Kew’s annual festive bonanza, and they’re certain to have plenty of new light tricks up their sleeve to show off once they get going from November 14, 2025. It remained a one-0f-a-kind showing in the city, which has been the case every year since it began in 2013, with the gardens going from strength to strength each year for their trail.
Here’s a little look at last year’s outing:
Christmas at Kew 2025
A UNESCO World Heritage site adorned in lights of many a variety is surely worth checking out. Every year, they put together a stunning mix of both projected lights and glowing installations that visitors can make their way around while wrapped up warm on a winter’s night. Each time around, they draw together both new and returning installations, including the famous Christmas Cathedral with thousands of lights that has been a hit for everyone’s ‘gram every single time.

In total, the trail is 2.7km, which accounts for about 40 minutes of walking (though you’ll need to allow time for staring at the pretty lights along the way!) among the millions of lights. Along the way, you can fuel up on their selection of hot food and sweet treats to keep you going for the distance, as well as winter-warming drinks to keep things toasty and merry in equal measure.
Christmas at Kew returns to Kew Gardens on November 14, 2025 to January 4, 2026. There are off-peak and peak pricing tiers, and you can find all the details & book your spot here.
