Christmas at Eltham Palace means passing through tunnels and pathways adorned with twinkling lights, with colours and sounds completing the mesmerising experience. It’s open throughout December, and it’s recommended that visitors book in advance to experience this magical light trail.
What can we expect from Christmas at Eltham Palace?
During an evening at Eltham Palace, there are exuberant, interactive colour displays brightening up the walls of the incredible art deco mansion, and magical installations ready to put a smile on visitors of all ages along the way.
Weave your way around the maze of light and get lost in the moat of the palace which has come alive for the Christmas period at Eltham. If there’s one thing this palace doesn’t lack in December each year, it’s Instagram opportunities.
Besides the light trail, Eltham Palace will also be home to various food stalls, and, of course, mulled wine stands to warm you up as you head around the sea of lights. The English Heritage shop will also be open with Christmas cards, decorations, foodie treats, and gifts on offer if you want to hunt for the perfect Christmas present to take home from the former Tudor palace.
This year also marks the first year that English Heritage will team up with Kilimanjaro Live to put on their light show for 2023, and by the looks of things, the Christmas spirit is well and truly lit up.
As you can see from the stunning imagery of Eltham Palace all lit up, it will be a glimmering and dazzling affair, so wrap up warm this winter and book yourself a ticket to Enchanted Eltham Palace!
Sessions will run on selected dates throughout December, finishing up on January 1, 2024. Eltham Palace can be found at Court Yard, Greenwich, SE9 5QE. Nearest station is Eltham.
