With the Christmas season in full swing, one of London’s most popular areas is jumping headfirst into the festivities. Camden Market has kicked off its Christmas celebrations, and it has a festively wonderful programme in store for Londoners.
Camden Market’s Christmas wonderland launched just last week, on December 6, filling the area with holiday cheer. They’re treating revellers to everything from an Ice Palace Santa’s grotto to festive crafts, face-painting, and some stunning decorations. You won’t want to miss a trip to Hawley Wharf and the markets this December.
The centrepiece of the Camden Market Christmas celebrations is the market’s Ice Palace Grotto. Here, families can enjoy a meet-and-greet with Father Christmas and Mother Christmas and marvel at a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. The ticketed experience also includes festive gifts for participants and creative activities. These include a craft table, the opportunity to write a letter to Father Christmas, and face painting.

Camden Market Christmas decor
The launch of the Ice Palace grotto has been accompanied by Camden Market being transformed with the addition of holiday decorations. Head to Water Lane and you’ll discover a ‘ceiling of light’ installation, where a canopy of illuminations are now shining down on visitors. Look closely around the market, and you’ll notice that the Christmas lights draw inspiration from snowflakes.
For those looking for a mini treasure hunt, be sure to try and find all five of the Christmas trees. Each one has been decorated with snowflake decorations. Keep an eye out for their icy blue and fuchsia pink ornaments, which capture “the magic of Camden Market as it welcomes the festive season.”
