This summer, Brent Cross Town is inviting Londoners to relax, recharge, and get the adrenaline pumping with an exciting programme of free events, activities, and workshops. Just a Thameslink hop from King’s Cross, it boasts 50 acres of parks and playing fields – the perfect backdrop for making the most of the great outdoors. From sport and play to lounging in leafy green spaces and discovering fresh ways to socialise, it’s a summer escape right on the city’s doorstep.

And if you, like many other Londoners, love socialising with a competitive twist, then Chase Tag might just be your new favourite sport. And you can get involved in a free session, every week until September 6, as part of Summer in the Park in Brent Cross Town.

For those who are unfamiliar with Chase Tag, it’s a competitive sport that blends tag, parkour, and obstacle course racing. Set in a 12m x 12m arena (also known as The Quad), one athlete pursues another, with the aim of catching them within a 20 second window. Hosted on the Chase Tag Quad in Exploratory Park, the sessions will be led by professionals who’ll help you build confidence by guiding you through the basics and teaching you key techniques. Classes are held every Friday, at 3:30pm-4:30pm (kids), and 5pm-6pm (adults).

If it turns out that Chase Tag is your new favourite pastime, then be sure to get a team together and challenge your friends at The Play-Offs, the UK’s first free competitive socialising weekender in Brent Cross Town on September 13 and 14. Here you’ll take on a circuit of fun-filled activities (including Chase Tag) that require zero experience or training.

Feeling super confident? An International Chase Off will also be taking place that weekend, featuring some of the best teams from around the world – including the reigning World Chase Tag Champions, Hollywood Freerunners from LA. Not only is this a rare chance to watch some of the world’s best athletes compete in one the most fast-paced sports out there, you can even go head to head with them yourself!

But there’s so much more to get involved in at Summer in the Park in Brent Cross Town. Until August 31, adults can start their Saturdays with free introductory yoga sessions at the Visitor Pavilion, challenge themselves at Bootcamp fitness classes, or join a weekly running group, all for free. Meanwhile, children and families can dive into free skateboarding lessons (with female-only sessions available), pick up new skills with baseball coaching at Europe’s largest indoor baseball facility, get creative with arts and crafts, and enjoy plenty more activities throughout the season.
