This spring, immerse yourself in the sounds, smells and tastes of East Asia without even leaving the capital. Coming to London for three days in May, the Bon Appétit: Festival of Asian Food will set up shop in a favoured space near Waterloo, honouring this cuisine with an array of stalls, talks and workshops – and tickets have now gone on sale.
The Bon Appétit food festival will sit under the bold street art of London’s Leake Street between May 20–22. At this exclusive Fever event, you’ll be able to soak up the culinary knowledge of experts, and tantalise your tastebuds with all the delicious spices and ingredients you would expect in East Asian cuisine.
After much success in Paris, the festival will bring ramen, bao buns, noodles, dumplings, curries, stir fries and so much more to the glorious graffitied arches. Whether you’d rather sample a variety of ingredients and meals, or take some time out to gain insights about the dishes directly from the experts, it’s up to you. There’ll be plenty to do within your three-hour slot: live demos, workshops, talks and tastings will all make up the schedule.
Although Bon Appétit will predominantly honour East Asian food, the wider culture will also be celebrated with artistic performances. So, if you’re a keen foodie or just need to feel like you’re in a far-flung location for a couple of hours, then book your slot. The streets of Shanghai or Tokyo are just a tube ride away.
