A picture-perfect pocket of London has earned itself a rather comfy spot on a recent list of the best places to visit in the UK this year, courtesy of Condé Nast Traveller. Each year, the adventure-aficionados over at the travel publication put together a list of places across the UK that should be immediately catapulted to the top of everybody’s must-visit list. CNT’s editors and expert contributors scour the length and breadth of the country, rummaging through every nook and cranny to uncover the best of the bunch. And it turns out that one of the chart-topping spots is right here in the capital city.
London’s beautiful Bloomsbury made an appearance on the list, being hailed the place to go in 2026 for ‘intellectually stimulating activities and exciting new openings’. To be quite honest with you, Bloomsbury has it all. Gorgeous things to gawp at, exciting things to do, delicious things to things to stuff your face with; the list goes on.

Bloomsbury is home to some of the most iconic institutions in the country, making it a haven for culture vultures. From legendary landmarks like the British Library and British Museum to key academic establishments like Senate House, University College London, and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art; Bloomsbury is a neighbourhood that’s been ‘shaped by ideas’. Its also home to the Bloomsbury Group; a spot where some of the world’s best writers shared their thoughts and findings.
There’s plenty of picture-perfect houses to have a nosey at in Bloomsbury, and a plethora of restaurants and coffee shops to for eating, drinking, and – most importantly – people watching. A vital organ in London’s history, and filled to the brim with charm and character; I think it’s pretty easy to see why CNT think Bloomsbury is worth everybody’s time and attention this year.
