Many of us have raised a glass this week, especially those celebrating England’s dramatic victory against Germany on Sunday in the final of Euro 2022. Lots of glasses, in fact.
If you’re continuing the merry activities, then there’s now only one drink you should be pouring into those tankards. Camden Town Brewery have just released the ‘Golden Mead’ in honour of Golden Boot Winner and Player Of The Tournament Beth Mead, who scored six goals and tallied five assists on the way to the historic England win.
IT CAME HOME, so can this can. GOALDEN MEAD pre-sale now on our web-shop whilst stocks last, 100% of sales will go to @bmeado9 chosen charity (and we’re gonna match that amount too). Mead we say more? https://t.co/1FVNck5EXC pic.twitter.com/0OhIB7ezNk

Listed as “a fresh take on an old skool mead”, this ale is honey wheat flavoured, and is rumoured to taste nearly as sweet as the Lionesses victory, though nothing could quite top that, could it? It might, however, come pretty damn close, so you’ll just have to try it to find out. You can find them now at their London beer hall.
Camden Town Brewery have confirmed that 100% of the sales generated will go to a charity of Beth Mead’s choosing, and the brand will also match the final amount.

You’ll have to be eagle-eyed and rapid on the mouse-and-keyboard to get your hands on a four-pack of the Golden Mead from their website, though. The pre-sale has already sold out (a good indication that Euros fever still very much grips us all), so you’ll need to watch out for anymore batches online, as once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Those lucky enough to get their hands on them will need to wait four weeks, but there will be plenty of football to put on the box by that point, so that Euros-shaped hole we currently inhabit won’t feel quite as large.
One Camden Tow Brewery customer who will toast to the new season with a glass of of Golden Mead is Arsenal Women’s Head Coach Jonas Eidevell (you may recognise him from the BBC coverage of the Euros), who proudly showed off his purchase on Twitter today. Some might say he would hope it’s a good luck charm for the upcoming WSL season, since he coaches Beth Mead through the club season. But, given her form for Arsenal last year and for England through the Euros, she probably doesn’t need it.
Cheers!
