As a girl who functions almost exclusively on caffeine, I’m really rather invested (both financially and emotionally) in the capital’s coffee shop scene. And so the fact that three London coffee shops have just earnt themselves a sought-after spot on a highly coveted list makes me pretty darn excited.
The list in question comes courtesy of the coffee connoisseurs over at The World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops. The global recognition system does what it says on the tin, really. They scour the length and breadth of the planet in search of the very best in the world of coffee – the crema of the crop, if you will – and then point us in their direction.
Having created a comprehensive set of criteria, The World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops thoroughly evaluates each and every spot based on factors including quality of coffee, barista expertise, customer service, innovation, ambience and atmosphere, sustainability practices, food and pastry quality, and community. I told you they were thorough. Anyway, they’ve recently released their continental rankings – and out of the 100 top coffee shops in Europe, three are right here in London.

Rosslyn Coffee
Rosslyn Coffee nabbed the 12th place on the list of the Europe’s best coffee shops. With nine spots dotted around the city’s Square Mile, Rosslyn has been caffeinating the capital city since its first site set up shop on Queen Victoria Street back in 2018. The independent collection of coffee shops has truly set the standard for ‘what specialty coffee can achieve at high volume’. And it’s certainly not hard to see why it was named the 12th best coffee shop on the continent.
Moonstruck Café
Moonstruck Café in Stockwell found itself at number 18 on the list of Europe’s best coffee shops. Boasting style, substance, and seriously great coffee; Moonstruck serves as a sanctuary of serenity that feels a far cry from the chaos of the capital city. And with its unwavering commitment to quality coffee, you can guarantee that each and every cup is brewed to perfection.
Oma Coffee Roaster
The final London locale to have made an appearance on the list of the best coffee shops on the continent is Oma Coffee Roaster. Securing the 94th position on the coveted list, Oma is a small-batch specialty coffee roastery found in Fitzrovia. Epitomising the phrase ‘small but mighty’, this cute-as-a-button coffee shop pours passion into every cup of coffee they make.
