There are very few things as enjoyable as a bank holiday in London. The collective sigh of relief that you can hear sweep across the city as Londoners slam their laptops shut and hotfoot it to their (extended) weekend plans. It’s a feeling that’s pretty darn unmatched. And whilst I’m not in the business of raining on people’s parades, I do come bearing some news that might put a slight dampener on the weekend.
After a scorching hot summer, the temperature has finally begun to drop – and this weekend, a fair bit of rain is set to descend upon the capital city, too. It’s not all bad, though – folks. There are many sunny spells scattered throughout the bank holiday weekend, too. So, without further ado – here’s the weather you can expect to see in London this Summer Bank Holiday.
Friday, August 28
According to BBC Weather and the Met Office, Londoners can expect light rainy showers and drizzle throughout the majority of Friday. BBC Weather forecasts highs of 22°C and lows of 15°C, whilst the Met Office are expecting highs of 24°C and lows of 17°C.
Saturday, August 29
Saturday is set to be another rainy one, with light rain and drizzle forecast from morning through to evening. BBC Weather forecasts highs of 22°C and lows of 15°C, whilst the Met Office are expecting highs of 23°C and lows of 17°C.
Sunday, August 30
According to BBC Weather, Sunday is set to bring some thundery showers – so be sure to pack your brollies, folks. BBC Weather forecasts highs of 23°C and lows of 14°C, whilst the Met Office expect fair less rain and highs of 23°C.
Monday, August 31
Last but by no means least we have Monday. With just a 10% chance of rain, this is certainly set to be the driest day of the weekend, with BBC Weather forecasting highs of 22°C and lows of 13°C.
Now, it goes without saying, we live in the UK, and so all these forecasts are subject to change. So, I’ll certainly be keeping my eyes on the forecast and hoping for the best.
