If you know any budding scientists who would absolutely love to experience a night at the museum, Astronights may just be a dream come true. The Science Museum has been hosting sleepovers for over two decades, offering families the chance to explore the museum after dark and camp out among space rockets, a moon rock, or in the world’s largest medical galleries. The night will be jam-packed with activities to satisfy science enthusiasts, including plenty of interactive workshops and demonstrations.
After filling your brains and getting some kip alongside some epic exhibits, you’ll wake up to breakfast and a chance to explore the museum’s interactive experience, Wonderlab. But that’s not all: you’ll also get the opportunity to catch a 3D documentary on the famously massive IMAX screen before you head home.
There’s a choice of two tickets: Standard or VIP. Astronights VIPs get an airbed for extra comfort, a reserved space in the sleeping gallery, special breakfast options including more choice for grown-ups’ hot drinks, and access to a dedicated VIP usher team who will be on hand to answer any questions.
The next Astronights events are taking place on May 17, June 21 or July 12, 2024. Tickets cost £70 (or £100 for VIP tickets) and include a TEMPUR® travel pillow to take home. Suitable for ages 7-11.
